Mumbai-based brain health startup Ivory has raised $1 million in a seed funding round backed by Draper Associates, SAGE Venture Fund, MoSJE, IFCI Ventures, and SIDBI. The company had also gained public attention after being featured on Shark Tank India last year.

The latest investment comes as the startup looks to deepen its presence in the growing preventive healthcare segment, where demand for technology-led wellness and diagnostic tools continues to rise.

Building on Earlier Funding Momentum

This is not the first time Ivory has attracted investor interest. In April last year, the company raised $1 million in a round co-led by IIM-A Ventures and Capital A. Before that, it secured $500,000 from Capital A in February 2024.

With multiple funding rounds completed within a relatively short span, Ivory appears to be accelerating its long-term plans in the cognitive healthcare space.

Focus on Product Development and Scalable Solutions

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to strengthen its technology infrastructure, expand clinical capabilities, and improve its product portfolio.

A major focus area will be the development of scalable and evidence-based solutions designed to support early diagnosis and preventive cognitive care. As awareness around mental fitness, memory health, and age-related cognitive decline increases, solutions that can be delivered efficiently through digital platforms are becoming more relevant.

Startup Aims to Make Brain Health Preventive and Accessible

Ivory was co-founded in early 2023 by Issac John and Rahul Krishnan. The startup focuses on early detection of cognitive issues and proactive brain care.

The platform combines neuroscience, neuropsychology, and data-driven interventions to help users monitor and improve their cognitive well-being. Rather than waiting for symptoms to become severe, the company’s approach is centered on routine screening and continuous care.

This preventive model reflects a broader shift in healthcare, where early intervention is increasingly seen as more effective than delayed treatment.

App-Based Cognitive Assessments for Users

Ivory offers clinical-grade cognitive assessments and personalised brain health tools through its mobile application. Users can track their cognitive performance and access tailored recommendations aimed at supporting long-term brain function.

The company says its services are backed by a multidisciplinary clinical team that includes experts from neuroscience, neurology, general medicine, and neuropsychology.

This blend of technology and medical expertise is intended to bring professional-grade cognitive care to consumers in a more accessible format.

Addressing a Growing Gap in India’s Healthcare Ecosystem

Cognitive health has traditionally remained under-addressed in routine healthcare systems, especially when compared with areas such as heart health, diabetes, or general diagnostics. Ivory is working to bridge that gap by making cognitive screening easier to access and easier to monitor over time.

The company’s model seeks to position brain health as a regular part of preventive healthcare rather than a specialised service used only after symptoms emerge.

As lifestyle stress, ageing populations, and increased awareness around neurological wellness continue to shape healthcare priorities, this category may see stronger adoption in the coming years.

Expanding Through Strategic Partnerships

Alongside product development, Ivory has been growing its partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem. It recently collaborated with Metropolis Healthcare to launch the TruHealth Mind & Body package.

The offering combines pathology diagnostics with neuroscience-based cognitive assessments, creating an integrated preventive health package for users. Such collaborations may help the company reach a wider audience through established healthcare networks.

Competing in a Global and Traditional Market

Ivory operates in a competitive landscape that includes international digital health platforms such as Cogstate, Altoida, Pearson, BrainCheck, and Linus Health.

At the same time, it also competes with traditional cognitive assessment methods like MoCA, MMSE, and ACE-III, which are widely used in clinical settings.

By offering digital, trackable, and user-friendly alternatives, the startup is positioning itself at the intersection of healthcare technology and preventive medicine. With fresh funding now in place, Ivory is expected to continue expanding its role in India’s emerging brain health sector.
