From Village Kitchen to Food Startup: Kaushalya Chaudhary’s Journey

Share

Kaushalya Chaudhary’s story does not start in a city or a fancy office. It starts in a kitchen in Kuri village. This village is near Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Kaushalya Chaudhary was born on 31 March 1995. Kaushalya Chaudhary grew up far away from people who have a lot of money to invest and from people who start companies. Kaushalya Chaudhary did not know about things like pitch decks and business talk. Kaushalya did have something. She had a belief that if she made good food and worked very hard, she could do something big with her life.

Journey of Kaushalya

In the year 2017, she started making cooking videos on YouTube with a smartphone that cost ₹7,500. At first, things were really tough. She would speak in Hindi in her videos. She was not getting many viewers. The number of people watching her videos was very low. She started to feel unsure about what she was doing. She thought about quitting. Then her grandmother gave her a very simple idea that made a big difference: make videos in her own language, the language she speaks at home. The decision to speak in Marwari made a difference. Speaking in Marwari was what changed everything. That one decision to speak in Marwari was really important.

When people found something true, that is when Authenticity really found an audience. Authenticity is something that people are looking for. They want to see the thing, not something that is fake. So when Authenticity found an audience, it was because people were ready for something true. The idea of authenticity found an audience because it was something that people needed.
The moment Kaushalya started being true to her roots, people began to notice her. Her videos felt like you were watching a family member cook in their kitchen. They were simple. Her channel started to get really popular after a month. It did not take long for Sidhi Marwadi Kitchen to become an online community. The thing that people liked about Sidhi Marwadi Kitchen was not the food. They also liked the honest way Sidhi Marwadi Kitchen was presented.

From Screens to the National Stage

In the year 2023 Kaushalyas journey reached a milestone when she went on MasterChef India Season 8. She was there to show people about the food from Rajasthan. She did a great job. Kaushalya showed everyone that the food from her region could be loved by people over the country.

The show did a lot for Kaushalya. It made people know who she was. It also gave Kaushalya confidence. She realized that her love for cooking was not about making videos, but it could be something big and lasting. Kaushalya learned that her passion for Rajasthani cuisine could take her to places.

From Creator to Founder

That idea actually happened in March 2024 when Kaushalya started Sidhi Marwadi, a food brand that says it will only sell things that are good enough for your own family to eat. Sidhi Marwadi is about selling food that does not have any preservatives and is made in a traditional way, like they do in Indian kitchens, using old methods that people have been using for a long time. The response was really amazing. People started placing orders, customers came back for more, and the word about Sidhi Marwadi spread on its own. By the year 2025, Sidhi Marwadi had opened more than 20 outlets and they did this by focusing on slow and steady growth that people could trust instead of trying to grow Sidhi Marwadi too quickly.

Building More Than a Business

For Kaushalya Sidhi Marwadi, it is really a lot more than just numbers. The brand is supposed to help women. Many of these women have never had any money of their own before. Now, women are doing a lot of the work for Sidhi Marwadi, like making the products and packaging them. Some women are even running their Sidhi Marwadi stores, which is a big deal for them because they have never been their own bosses before. This is a step for these women, who are just starting to learn about running their own businesses. The brand is doing something cool at the same time. It is keeping food practices alive. This is because Kaushalya is sourcing food from places and using methods that have been around for a long time. For Kaushalya, growth is important. It should not happen if it means giving up on being authentic. Kaushalya believes in this. It affects every decision Kaushalya makes about the brand.

Looking Ahead

Kaushalya is still very involved with the brand she created from the beginning. She has plans for Sidhi Marwadi. The goal is to have 100 outlets by 2026. Sidhi Marwadi also wants to sell things to people who live in other countries. Even though Sidhi Marwadi is getting bigger, it is still the same thing. Being honest and following tradition. People trust Sidhi Marwadi. That is important to Kaushalya and her brand, Sidhi Marwadi.

Kaushalya Chaudhary’s journey is a reminder that modern Indian startups don’t always begin in offices or cities. Sometimes, they begin in a village kitchen with courage, culture, and the confidence to stay real.
