Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has secured $40 million, approximately Rs 400 crore, in a Series B funding round co-led by Norwest and Skegen Asset Management.
The round also included participation from Indus Bridge Ventures
and GJNX Ventures. The investment marks a significant capital infusion for the Hyderabad-based aerospace and deeptech manufacturer as it expands its operations across multiple markets.
The company plans to use the fresh funding to increase its manufacturing capacity and upgrade facilities in India, the United Kingdom and the United States. Part of the capital will also go towards accelerating the development of an upcoming manufacturing facility.
Founded by Vamsi Vikas, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group will additionally invest in its Mission Systems, Deep Tech and Autonomous businesses, areas that have become an increasingly important part of its operations beyond conventional aerospace manufacturing.
A manufacturing network spanning three countries
Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group manufactures precision-engineered components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace and defence industries. It operates more than 10 facilities across India, the UK and the US.
Its customers include major global aerospace manufacturers such as GE Aerospace, Honeywell, Safran and Collins Aerospace. The company also supplies products to energy-sector businesses including Halliburton, SLB and GE.
The group currently has an order book of more than Rs 2,500 crore, giving it a substantial pipeline as it prepares to expand production capacity.
From precision components to complete aerospace capabilities
The company’s operations cover several stages of aerospace manufacturing, including design, engineering, testing and assembly.
Its production capabilities include CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, electronics, gears, fasteners and NADCAP-approved special processes. This allows the group to handle a broad range of manufacturing requirements within its own network.
Alongside contract manufacturing, Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group has been building products in mission systems and deeptech. Its work in these areas includes turbojet engines, aircraft hydraulic pumps, missile subsystems and autonomous platforms.
The company is also developing internal-combustion and jet-powered drones, as well as unmanned ground vehicles intended for the Indian armed forces.
Its research and development partnerships include Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology and organisations such as the Aeronautical Development Agency and the Defence Research and Development Organisation.
The latest funding gives Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group additional resources to scale both sides of its business: the precision manufacturing operations that serve established aerospace customers and the newer mission systems, autonomous platforms and deeptech programmes it is developing.
