Gensol Engineering announced on Thursday that it has been awarded a ₹897-crore contract by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) to develop a 225 MW grid-connected solar project.

The project will be executed under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode at the GSECL Solar Park (Stage-III) in Khavda, located in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

This initiative involves setting up a 225 MW-AC (alternating current) solar project, which is equivalent to 276 MW-DC (direct current), ensuring efficient grid connectivity.

The total contract value, which includes operations and maintenance (O&M) services for three years, amounts to ₹897.47 crore, inclusive of all applicable taxes and duties.

Gensol Engineering confirmed that the agreement with NTPC REL was finalised last week, marking a significant step in advancing solar energy infrastructure in the region.
