M&M Q2 results: Profit surges by 35% to ₹3,171 crore

M&M Q2 results have brought positive news as the company reported a substantial 35% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹3,171 crore for the second quarter of FY25. This marked a significant leap from the ₹2,348 crore reported in the same period last year. Additionally, M&M’s consolidated revenue rose 10% YoY to ₹37,689 crore, showcasing the company’s steady growth.

M&M Q2 profit and revenue growth

In its Q2 results, M&M highlighted growth in various segments. On a standalone basis, M&M’s profit stood at ₹3,840.88 crore, up 13.2% from ₹3,393.06 crore in the previous fiscal year’s corresponding quarter. Revenue from operations also showed a notable 12% increase, reaching ₹28,919 crore.

M&M Q2 results show record volumes and segment performance

The automobile segment under M&M witnessed its highest-ever quarterly volumes, recording 2,31,038 units in Q2 FY25, a 9% YoY growth. Tractor sales were also impressive, with a 4% YoY increase, reaching 92,382 units. The company achieved the highest-ever Q2 market share in its Farm Equipment Segment at 42.5%.

M&M Q2 profit driven by operational strength

M&M’s Q2 results revealed that the company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 30% to ₹3,908 crore, compared to ₹2,993 crore in the previous year. The EBITDA margin showed a 190 basis points (bps) improvement, reaching 14.2%, up from 12.3% YoY.

Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & CEO (Auto and Farm Sector) at M&M, emphasized the company’s achievements: “In Q2 FY25, we gained market share across both our Auto and Tractor businesses. SUV volumes rose by 18% YoY, strengthening our position with an increased revenue market share by 190 bps YoY.”

Detailed performance by segment

Automobile Segment: M&M’s Auto segment revenue for Q2 FY25 surged 14% to ₹21,110.28 crore from ₹18,514.74 crore YoY, with EBIT growing by 17.37% to ₹2,005.98 crore.

Farm Equipment Segment: Revenue from the Farm Equipment Segment rose 9.75% to ₹6,496.81 crore, compared to ₹5,919.51 crore in Q2 of the previous year. EBIT for this segment saw a 20% jump to ₹1,136.22 crore from ₹946.33 crore.

M&M’s Q2 results underscore the company’s resilience and strategic growth across both its core and emerging business areas.
