Flipkart has expanded its quick commerce service, Flipkart Minutes, to Gurugram and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR). This follows the service’s successful debut in Bengaluru and is a strategic move in Flipkart’s growth plans to tap into the fast-evolving quick commerce sector.
Residents of key areas in Gurugram, including Unitech Cyber Park, Sectors 39 and 40, The Millennium City Centre (Sector 29), and Golf Course Road (Sector 54), can now benefit from Flipkart Minutes. The service, which promises delivery times ranging from 8 to 16 minutes, is also available in other parts of the NCR region. Customers can order a wide range of products, including food, electronics, and mobile phones, with the goal of offering fast and convenient delivery.
With this expansion, Flipkart is positioning itself as a strong competitor in the quick commerce market, challenging established players such as BigBasket and Amazon Fresh. BigBasket is also transitioning towards fast commerce, while Amazon has announced plans to enter the market by early next year. This marks a significant shift in India’s e-commerce landscape, where companies are racing to provide quicker delivery services to meet rising consumer demand for faster turnarounds.
The quick commerce space has seen significant growth and competition, with players like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto already operating in the market. Zepto, led by Aadit Palicha, has been one of the standout performers, recently surpassing a valuation of USD 5 billion. Zepto has also secured over USD 1 billion in funding in recent months, boosting its financial position as it prepares for an initial public offering (IPO) by the end of 2025.
As Flipkart Minutes enters more regions, the competition within the quick commerce sector is expected to intensify, offering consumers more options and faster deliveries across various product categories.
