EVChargeX has partnered with IIT Delhi-incubated EVI Technologies (EVIT) and the Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation (DRIIV) cluster to develop an integrated electric two-wheeler platform aimed at commercial operations.
EVChargeX, the electric vehicle brand under EFLOMOB Mobility Pvt. Ltd., plans to bring together vehicles, charging infrastructure, battery technology and fleet management under a single operating ecosystem. The collaboration is focused on building a fully domestic platform rather than treating the vehicle, battery and charging network as separate parts of the commercial EV chain.
A notable part of the plan is its scope beyond hardware. Alongside purpose-built commercial electric two-wheelers and swappable lithium-ion batteries, the platform is expected to include automated battery-swapping stations, smart chargers, cloud-based battery and energy management software, real-time telemetry and fleet oversight.
The programme also includes specialist training for drivers and maintenance personnel, adding an operational component to a platform otherwise centred on vehicles, batteries and charging infrastructure.
EVChargeX and EVIT bring different capabilities
Under the collaboration, EVChargeX brings its experience in fleet management and charging logistics, while EVIT contributes its technology research and development capabilities.
EVIT’s work is supported by institutions including the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), Electropreneur Park and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
Together, the partners are looking to create an end-to-end commercial electric mobility system capable of supporting both the physical movement of vehicles and the technology needed to monitor batteries, energy consumption and fleet operations.
Battery swapping takes centre stage
Battery swapping is expected to be a central part of the platform.
EVChargeX intends to embed high-density battery-swapping infrastructure into its commercial operations. The company is targeting lower vehicle downtime, improved total cost of ownership for commercial users and better daily productivity for gig workers.
For commercial electric two-wheelers, the planned system would connect swappable battery modules with automated swapping stations and digital energy-management tools. Real-time telemetry and fleet monitoring would sit alongside that physical infrastructure, giving operators greater visibility into day-to-day fleet activity.
The partnership therefore extends beyond simply deploying electric scooters or installing chargers. Its proposed structure covers the vehicle, battery, swapping network, software layer and the people responsible for operating and maintaining the system.
Partnership follows Chandigarh Tricity hub rollout
The announcement comes after EVChargeX rolled out its first physical operational hub in the Chandigarh Tricity region.
The company was co-founded by Dilawar Gulia and Riplav Satija. Its existing services range from electric scooter rentals for last-mile delivery workers to charging setups for residential and commercial users, as well as intercity buses.
The EVIT and DRIIV collaboration now adds a technology-development layer to those operations, with the partners working toward a commercial electric two-wheeler ecosystem that combines mobility assets with battery swapping, charging, software and operational support.
