Hyderabad-based nutraceutical startup ZeroHarm Sciences has raised Rs 65 crore, or about $7.15 million, in its Series A funding round. The investment was led by Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited through its Kotak Life Sciences Fund I, which contributed Rs 40 crore. Alkemi Growth Capital also participated in the round with an investment of Rs 25 crore.

The company announced that the fresh capital will support national brand building, expansion into international markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East, and the scaling of its research and manufacturing infrastructure. The funding marks a significant milestone as the company seeks to strengthen its presence in both domestic and global preventive healthcare markets.

A Science Driven Approach to Plant Based Supplements

ZeroHarm Sciences was founded in 2020 by Sachin Darbarwar and Shweta Darbarwar. The company focuses on developing plant based nutraceutical products using proprietary nano formulation technology. Its approach centers on enhancing the effectiveness of natural health supplements by improving how nutrients are absorbed and utilized by the body.

The company aims to position itself as what it describes as a Trust over Promise health platform. Its model focuses on demonstrating supplement effectiveness through measurable health outcomes rather than relying solely on marketing claims. This outcome oriented approach is designed to address growing consumer demand for evidence backed wellness solutions.

Nano Technology Meets Ayurveda for Preventive Care

At the core of ZeroHarm’s innovation is its nano formulation process, which converts plant derived nutrients into nano sized particles. This process improves bioavailability, allowing nutrients to be absorbed more efficiently and released in a controlled manner, even at lower doses.

The company combines principles of Ayurveda with advanced nanotechnology to create preventive health products. This integration enables it to develop supplements that aim to support long term wellness while maintaining the natural origin of their ingredients.

To maintain quality and traceability, ZeroHarm manages its supply chain directly, sourcing medicinal plants through a network of more than 10,000 farmers located in Northeast India and the Himalayan region. This farm to formulation approach helps ensure consistency in raw materials while supporting agricultural communities involved in medicinal plant cultivation.

The company has also secured patents related to its nano formulations. These include innovations involving turmeric based phytochemicals, iron and folic acid combinations, carotenoid based formulations for eye health, and synbiotic compositions designed to support gut health.

Growing Product Portfolio and Multi Channel Distribution

ZeroHarm Sciences has developed a product portfolio of more than 60 stock keeping units across multiple health categories. These include supplements targeting diabetes management, cardiovascular health, joint care, immunity, gut health, oncology support, women’s wellness, and performance nutrition.

Its products are distributed through a combination of direct and marketplace channels. Customers can purchase items through the company’s official website as well as major ecommerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart. The brand is also available on quick commerce platforms, enabling faster delivery to urban consumers.

According to the company, its products have been used by more than 300,000 customers so far. This growing user base reflects rising consumer interest in preventive healthcare and plant based nutritional solutions.

Rising Demand Fuels Nutraceutical Market Growth

India’s nutraceutical sector has been expanding rapidly, driven by increased health awareness, lifestyle related conditions, and a shift toward preventive wellness. The domestic nutraceutical market is projected to reach $18 billion by 2025. Globally, the nutraceutical market is expected to exceed $720 billion by 2027, reflecting strong demand for supplements and functional health products worldwide.

ZeroHarm Sciences operates in a competitive landscape alongside established and emerging nutraceutical brands such as Kapiva, Plix, HealthKart, and Wellbeing Nutrition. The company’s focus on nano formulation technology and vertically integrated sourcing is central to its strategy as it expands into new markets and strengthens its research capabilities.

With fresh funding and a growing portfolio, ZeroHarm Sciences is positioning itself to scale its technology driven nutraceutical platform and broaden its reach in India and internationally.
