Keya Salot has carved a niche in India’s premium farming sector, which has had a remarkable pivot from corporate law to agriculture. Leaving behind her corporate legal career, Salot embarked on an unconventional journey in 2018, cultivating microgreens atop her family office terrace in Powai, Mumbai. In just six months, her venture flourished, supplying over 25 varieties of microgreens to top hotels and speciality restaurants, and onboarding 50 clients.
During a 2019 trip to Mexico and Europe, Keya and her husband, Vimal Salot, were inspired by the expansive raspberry and blueberry farms they encountered. Motivated to bring similar farming practices to India, the duo imported their first set of berry plants in July 2020, specifically selected to adapt to Indian climatic conditions. Their hard work paid off in 2021 with their first commercial harvest, supplying premium berries to retailers such as Star Bazaar.

To expand operations, the Salots leased 20 acres of land in Talegaon, Pune, officially launching their venture under Farm2Fam. Utilising low-cost tunnel structures, they protected crops from extreme temperatures, enabling consistent, year-round production.
Farm2Fam currently has 75 employees and will harvest a record 135 tonnes of exotic berries every year. Though the financial details are not available, the company is doing a great job in India’s agriculture industry. The Salots also intend to have a positive impact on approximately 500 farming families by the upcoming financial year, encouraging sustainable rural development.
