Vibrant Buildcon 2025, held recently in Gujarat, drew global attention not just for its sheer scale but also for symbolising India’s growing stature in international trade and manufacturing. Among the many high-profile visitors was actor-entrepreneur Suniel Shetty, who shared a powerful reflection on India’s evolving industrial narrative in a widely circulated LinkedIn post.
“India isn’t just building for itself anymore. We’re building for the world,” Shetty wrote, summarizing what he described as a transformative experience at the event.
Hosted in the industrial state of Gujarat, Vibrant Buildcon brought together stakeholders across sectors such as steel, cement, ceramics, and construction technology, with over 60 international delegations attending to explore partnerships and assess India’s infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities.

One of the biggest highlights Shetty pointed out was the rise of small-town entrepreneurs, many of whom come from towns such as Morbi, Gujarat now famous worldwide for its ceramics business. Previously regarded as regional players, these companies are now pitted against European titans, showing a larger trend in India’s positioning as not only a manufacturing center but also a design and innovation hub.
“Their hunger, their confidence, their belief in themselves, it’s what I think we can call the true India story,” he added, highlighting the spirit of grassroots entrepreneurship powering the country’s export growth.
Suniel Shetty, known not just for his cinematic career but also his role as a business mentor and investor, underscored how the country’s newfound confidence is particularly timely. As global trade gets reshaped by tariff disputes, shifting alliances, and supply chain realignments, India’s agility and commitment to scale are enabling it to seize fresh opportunities.

He also credited policy direction and leadership for this momentum, especially the work done by Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal.
“My heartfelt admiration for Piyush Goyal ji – one of our most committed and dynamic ministers. The work he’s doing to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen India’s global trade is something I deeply respect,” Shetty said.
Buildcon 2025 served not only as an exhibition of products but also as a symbol of India’s readiness to lead, offering a window into how local manufacturing is evolving into global brand-building.
As India deepens its trade ties with international partners and leverages events like Buildcon to showcase its capabilities, voices like Shetty’s are amplifying a narrative of national pride rooted in enterprise, not rhetoric.
“You’re not just building companies. You’re building a nation,” he concluded, addressing the many MSMEs and entrepreneurs he encountered.
From regional trade events to global ambitions, India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem powered by ambition, policy backing, and international demand may just be crafting its most important growth story yet.
