Shraddha Kapoor, who recently joined LinkedIn, has shared a deeply personal take on entrepreneurship, rooted not in boardrooms or startups, but in everyday choices. In a reflective post, she recalls growing up watching her father save and invest consistently. The familiar fable of the ant and the grasshopper resonated with her childhood because her father’s focus was always on building for the family’s future rather than basking in momentary success.

She reflects on her father’s career in cinema, pointing out that the long hours and demanding schedules were not unique to stars in leading roles. Character actors, too, put in the same effort, often without recognition or record. What stood out to her was his ability to move with ease from intense negative characters to lighthearted comedy, an adaptability she likens to how a business must pivot when circumstances demand change.
Shraddha Kapoor: “Building Starts With a Way of Life, Everyday”
Kapoor frames financial mindfulness as the bedrock of her entrepreneurial mindset. She admits to managing her own mutual fund investments on her phone and acknowledges the “paranoia” of Indians her age about money as a strength when channeled productively. “Being mindful with what I already have and to try to make it grow smartly, I think that’s where my entrepreneurship begins,” she writes.
The actor emphasizes that entrepreneurship is not confined to launching companies, it can also mean building personal and family security. Her advice is clear: “Be smart. Learn from your dad (or mine). Save. Invest.” The uncertainty of the COVID-19 years, she adds, only underscored the need for prudence: kabhi bhi kuch bhi ho sakta hai.
Importantly, Kapoor distances herself from the trend of bite-sized advice on wealth-building. She stresses she is not an expert or coach, but prefers learning from real experiences. By sharing her own, she hopes readers think for themselves rather than follow formulaic “get rich quick” tips.
