The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has started a new program that offers up to 50% rental discounts for small business kiosks along the Aqua Line. Announced on July 30, 2025, this program aims to support small businesses and improve access for underrepresented groups.

Who Qualifies for Rental Discounts?

NMRC provides assistance in a number of ways, such as giving transsexual entrepreneurs and business owners with disabilities a 50% discount. A forty percent reduction is available to women-owned firms. A 30% discount is available to registered startups and MSMEs.

A disability certificate issued by the chief medical officer. a certificate from a women’s development agency or MSME, or a self-declaration if you are a single female entrepreneur are among the documents required for the application.

Compact Spaces, Flexible Terms

Eligible micro-business spaces include kiosks, vending machines, and ATMs. Each space can be a maximum of 10 square meters and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. This process makes it easier to access spaces instead of going through a complicated tender process.

Licenses will last for three years and can be extended for two more years if the business performs well and follows the rules. First-time entrepreneurs and startups will receive priority.

Affordable Rental Details

Rental rates are competitive and inclusive: ₹750 to ₹1,050 per sqm/month for vending machine spaces and ₹1,200 to ₹1,700 per sqm/month for full kiosks. With applicable discounts, eligible applicants can access highly affordable business locations within Noida Metro stations.

Why This Policy Matters

  • Boosting social equity: By backing women, disabled, transgender, and MSME entrepreneurs, NMRC empowers marginalized groups.
  • Sparking startup growth: Reducing cost barriers helps new ventures establish visibility in high-footfall transit hubs.
  • Diversifying metro revenue: Subleasing small commercial spaces promotes business activity and enhances passenger experience, all while generating non-fare income.

How to Apply

  • Visit the NMRC website under the business offers section.
  • Inspect available kiosk spots at any of the 21 Aqua Line stations fifteen days after policy notification.
  • Submit the simplified online application with required documents.
  • Spaces are allotted quickly, so early applicants get priority.

Practical Impact

This inclusive kiosk scheme makes business setup accessible for underrepresented first‑time entrepreneurs. With 10sqm micro-spaces in metro stations priced affordably and supported with priority allocation and government‑recognized documentation, the program reduces entry barriers significantly.

NMRC’s progressive policy makes metro station kiosks affordable and accessible, especially for women, disabled, transgender, and MSME entrepreneurs by offering discounts and simplifying allotment. It’s a step forward in bridging access gaps and encouraging micro-entrepreneurship in one of NCR’s busiest transit corridors.
