Suniel Shetty-backed Klassroom raises funding to expand its AI play

Klassroom Edutech, an innovative education-focused OTT platform backed by Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, has raised undisclosed growth capital in a funding round led by ah! Ventures. The round also saw participation from LetsVenture, Hem Securities, Meteor Ventures, and Growth Sense Fund.

Founded by Alka Javeri, Dhruv Javeri, and Dhumil Javeri, Klassroom Edutech combines an AI-powered OTT platform with a network of over 200 offline learning centres. This unique hybrid model addresses key challenges in the education sector, including accessibility, affordability, and accountability. “We are proud to support Klassroom’s innovative approach to democratising education,” stated Amit D Kumar, Senior Partner at ah! Ventures.

Klassroom offers a comprehensive range of content, including academic courses, skill-based training, career-oriented programmes, and language learning, attracting more than 50,000 subscribers in its first year. To date, the platform has positively impacted over 500,000 students across 600 cities in India.

A significant milestone in the company’s journey is its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Rajasthan government. Through this partnership, Klassroom will provide skill development courses to three lakh students across 3,000 schools. Suniel Shetty, who has been an investor since 2023, expressed confidence in the startup’s mission to transform education.

Klassroom previously raised USD 200,000 in 2021 as part of its pre-Series A funding, highlighting a steady trajectory of growth and innovation in the education sector.
