Expediting plot allotment for Greater Noida farmers

According to NG Ravi Kumar, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority, the plot allotment process is now moving forward with greater speed. The goal is to complete the land allocation within a month, following the high-level committee’s guidelines. This is expected to bring positive results to farmers, who have been awaiting land allotment for a considerable period.

Verification camps for 3,532 additional farmers

The Greater Noida authority will also conduct verification camps starting December 14 in 62 villages. These camps will determine the eligibility of 3,532 additional farmers for the land allotment process. During these camps, officials will verify key documents, including Aadhaar cards, land records, and farmer certificates, to ensure that the process remains fair and transparent.

Eligibility criteria for residential plot allotment

To qualify for the residential plot allotment, farmers must meet certain criteria. Specifically, they must have their names listed in the land records before January 28, 1991, and must be native to the region. These strict guidelines are in place to ensure that the allotment process remains transparent and equitable.

Challenges to the process of plot allotment

While progress is being made, there are challenges. Pawan Khatana, the Western UP in-charge for the BKU-Tikait faction, raised concerns about the situation in the villages. He argued that before proceeding, farmer leaders should be released, and their demands should be addressed through dialogue.
