Bigbasket accelerates with expanded offerings and faster deliveries

Bigbasket has cemented its position as India’s leading quick commerce platform in 2024. From groceries to electronics, lifestyle products, and home essentials, the platform has expanded its offerings to meet the evolving needs of Indian households.

This year, Bigbasket Now proved its prowess in delivering far more than mere staples. The grocery segment led the way once again with tender coconuts at 1.5 crore and apples at 40 million being the biggest sellers. Still, the platform catered to lifestyle and household needs, such as delivering 375,000 notebooks, 350,000 containers, 454,417 brooms, 295,000 batteries, and 90,000 litres of moisturisers. These figures reflect growing customer trust in Bigbasket Now as a one-stop shop for various essentials.

iPhone delivered in 10 minutes
Bigbasket Now marked the turning point by delivering an iPhone in less than 10 minutes. Being one of the first in India’s quick commerce platform to achieve this in a few minutes, it displays its efficient processing with regard to the high-value and high demand products. It also added electronics, toys, and home décor to its catalog, trying to provide a hassle-free shopping experience that meets diverse customer needs.

Supporting farmers and sustainability
More than 30,000 farmers are associated with the platform, providing fresh produce, but also local agricultural communities have been empowered at the same time. This effort toward sustainability is seen as a response from the customers as well; 25% prefer organic products. The organic category has experienced a 20% monthly growth, which can be considered an example of the health and environmental awareness growing in purchasing decisions for Indian consumers.

Plans for 2025
As Bigbasket Now enters 2025, it is on its way to further expanding its offerings, increasing speed of delivery, and further establishing its leadership in the quick commerce space. Being one of the largest platforms that operate in over 150 cities and grow a portfolio of non-grocery essentials, this platform is well-equipped to continue leading the industry’s transformation.
