Conversational AI platform Rumik.ai is raising a fresh $5 million funding round led by Elevation Capital, with continued participation from existing investors Info Edge and Huddle Ventures, according to people familiar with the deal.

This funding comes on the heels of a $1.5 million investment from Info Edge earlier this year, signaling strong confidence in Rumik’s vision to reshape enterprise communication through emotionally intelligent AI.

A New-Age AI: Emotional Intelligence Meets Regional Language Fluency

Founded in April 2024, Rumik.ai has quickly gained traction for its enterprise-ready conversational platform powered by an AI agent named Ira. Unlike standard chatbots, Ira is designed to detect emotion, understand user intent, and converse in multiple Indian languages such as Hinglish, Bangla, and Marathi.

What sets Ira apart is its ability to form contextual memory and respond with a tone resembling human conversation. This innovation makes it particularly appealing for businesses operating in linguistically diverse regions of India.

“Ira is not just reactive, it learns, remembers, and understands how to be emotionally intelligent,” said a source close to the company.

Deal Structure and Valuation

As per sources, the term sheet has been signed and the funds will be transferred soon. The current round should elevate Rumik’s valuation to the $25 to $30 million range, given the strong demand from investors in the Indian conversational AI market.

All parties, Elevation Capital, Info Edge, and Huddle Ventures, declined any comments as the deal is confidential until announcement.

Growing Investor Appetite for Conversational AI

This investment follows a broader trend in India’s startup ecosystem. In May 2025, Elevation Capital also led a $6 million seed round in Adopt AI, another conversational AI company with a task-based natural language interface.

In December 2024, Elevation appointed Krishna Mehra, a former Meta executive, to spearhead its investments in AI and SaaS, underlining the firm’s long-term commitment to the sector.

According to a Bain & Company report, nearly 70% of Indian startup funding rounds since 2023 have had some AI focus, especially in fields like customer experience, mental wellness, and enterprise productivity.

Rumik by the Numbers

Rumik has demonstrated early signs of strong product-market fit:

  • 35 million+ messages exchanged across the platform in just four months.
  • 500,000+ downloads of its app across platforms, with an average user rating of 4.2 stars on Google Play (based on over 5,000 reviews).
  • Average session time of 40 minutes, signaling deep user engagement, particularly among young adults and working professionals.
  • High retention in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, with growing traction in Southeast Asia and the Indian diaspora markets.

Use Cases: From Enterprise to Emotional Support

Rumik has positioned Ira for both enterprise deployment and personalized wellness:

  • Enterprise Solutions: Call centers, HR onboarding, and internal help desks use Ira for 24/7 multilingual assistance.
  • Mental Health: Users interact with Ira for daily emotional support and stress management.
  • Productivity and Planning: Ira assists with journaling, task management, and goal setting.
  • Social AI: The platform supports group conversations and memory retention, creating a companion-like experience.

This versatility puts Rumik in competition with both global AI leaders and niche Indian startups like Wysa and Yellow.ai, while carving a distinct space focused on cultural resonance and emotional depth.

Leadership and Vision

Rumik is led by a trio of seasoned founders:

  • Rohan Chaudhary (CEO) – Former product leader at Builder.ai and Unlearn Product.
  • Yogesh Maheshwari (CTO) – IIT Bombay alumnus with engineering experience at FreeCharge and Zendrive.
  • Mayank Chugh (Head of Design & Product) – Formerly with InMobi and Keka HR, focused on intuitive UI/UX.

Their vision is to redefine how people interact with machines, making conversations more natural, helpful, and emotionally aware.

What’s Next for Rumik?

With new funding in hand, Rumik plans to:

  1. Expand enterprise use cases with integrations into CRM and HR systems.
  2. Launch multimodal capabilities, including voice and possibly video.
  3. Boost user acquisition through content partnerships and regional campaigns.
  4. Continue AI development to deepen Ira’s contextual memory and personality.

Evolving Product

As India moves rapidly toward an AI-enabled future, Rumik.ai has already differentiated itself because of its cultural relevance, technical rigor and human-centered design. With good backing from investors and a rapidly evolving product, Rumik.ai is in a strong position to become a leader in conversational AI in India and international markets.
