Kerala-based direct-to-consumer fashion brand MyDesignation has raised Rs 40 crore in a Series A funding round led by RPSG Capital Ventures. The round also saw participation from existing investors Veltis Capital, Multiply Ventures, and Dominor Investments.

The fresh capital marks a significant step forward for the homegrown apparel brand as it prepares to expand its retail presence and broaden its product offerings.

Building on Earlier Seed Support

This latest round comes months after the company secured $1.25 million in seed funding in February 2025. The continued investor backing reflects confidence in the company’s business model and growth trajectory within India’s competitive fashion market.

With the Series A infusion, the brand is positioning itself for a larger operational scale and deeper market penetration.

Strategic Deployment of Funds

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be directed toward expanding its offline retail footprint through company-owned stores. The brand also plans to strengthen its senior leadership team and introduce new product categories as it enters its next phase of growth.

By investing in physical retail locations, MyDesignation aims to complement its digital-first strategy with a stronger on-ground presence in key urban markets. The company believes this blended approach will help it reach a wider customer base while enhancing brand visibility.

A Design-Led Brand Rooted in Community

Founded in 2020 by Swaroop Krishnan and Gopika B Raj, MyDesignation operates as a direct-to-consumer fashion and lifestyle brand. From its inception, the company has focused on building a design-led and community-driven apparel business.

The founders have positioned the label around creativity and cultural expression, seeking to create a differentiated fashion identity. The brand states that it emphasizes operational discipline alongside design innovation, aiming to build a sustainable fashion business that resonates with modern Indian consumers.

Digital First, Retail Forward

MyDesignation runs primarily on a digital-first model while steadily building an offline presence. It currently operates across major cities such as Bengaluru, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Calicut.

The company reports having served more than one million customers across India and highlights strong repeat purchase rates as a key indicator of customer loyalty. The growing retail network is expected to further strengthen customer engagement and provide a more immersive brand experience.

As part of its expansion roadmap, the company plans to open eight new stores over the next year. The targeted markets include Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, reflecting its focus on high-potential urban centres.

Focus on Distinctive Everyday Fashion

MyDesignation specializes in culturally inspired and contemporary casual wear for men and women. The company states that around 90 percent of its designs are unique and non-repetitive, underscoring its emphasis on originality.

Its product range caters to everyday fashion needs while also incorporating elements rooted in cultural identity. By blending modern silhouettes with locally inspired themes, the brand seeks to offer a personalized and engaging shopping experience.

The company positions itself as a label for fashion enthusiasts looking for individuality in their wardrobe choices rather than mass-produced styles.

Sustained Growth and Leadership Strengthening

Since its inception in 2020, MyDesignation says it has recorded revenue growth of approximately 100 percent annually. As it scales operations, the company plans to strengthen leadership across core functions, including finance, supply chain, merchandising, and marketing.

The addition of experienced professionals in these areas is expected to support operational efficiency and help manage the complexities of rapid expansion.

With fresh capital, a growing customer base, and plans for deeper retail penetration, MyDesignation is entering a new chapter in its journey. The company’s focus on distinctive design, community engagement, and structured expansion places it firmly in growth mode as it continues to build its presence in India’s evolving direct-to-consumer fashion landscape.
