The government of Uttar Pradesh has released its budget for 2025, and the total outlay has been set at ₹8.08 lakh crore, a 9.8% rise over the last year. The budget is focused on infrastructure, employment generation, rural development, and social welfare.
Major Financial Allocations
- Infrastructure Development: ₹2.2 lakh crore (27% of the total budget) allocated for roads, bridges, and public works.
- Education & Skill Development: ₹1.05 lakh crore (13%) reserved for higher education, technical training, and school development.
- Agriculture & Rural Development: ₹88,000 crore (11%) to strengthen rural economies and farming communities.
- Healthcare & Social Welfare: ₹48,000 crore (6%) to improve medical facilities and social security programs.
- Law & Order & Public Safety: ₹32,000 crore (4%) allocated for police modernization and judicial reforms.

Key Schemes & Announcements
1. Employment & Industrial Growth
- Under the Skill Development Mission, 15-25 lakh youth will receive training, and over 5-7 lakh individuals will gain employment.
- The Vishwakarma Yojana will facilitate skill training for 2.5 lakh artisans and MSME workers.
- The government plans to establish one industry per district, benefiting 1,838 entrepreneurs with a total investment of ₹10,560 crore, creating 34,500 jobs.
2. Agriculture & Rural Support
- ₹79,500 crore was allocated to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
- Irrigation Projects: ₹7,140 crore for improving water supply to farmlands.
- PM Fasal Bima Yojana will provide ₹496 crore as insurance compensation to 10 lakh farmers.
3. Energy & Power Infrastructure
- ₹3,953 crore for solar energy expansion, to be completed in four years.
- Collaboration with Coal India Ltd. for a 500 MW solar energy project worth ₹2,500 crore.
4. Health & Social Welfare
- PM Jan Arogya Yojana coverage expanded, with 11,800 new MBBS seats to be created.
- ₹2066 crore allocated for PG medical education expansion.
- ₹6,22,974 women to benefit from maternal and child welfare schemes.

While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna emphasized,
“This budget is a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s rapid growth, ensuring holistic development across all sectors.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath added,
“Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a top-performing state with a strong economic foundation, and this budget aims to sustain our development momentum.”
