The Editors Guild of India (EGI) will organise the Rajendra Mathur Memorial Lecture on March 28 at Multipurpose Hall, Kamaladevi Complex, IIC, New Delhi. Uday Shankar, Co-Founder of Bodhi Tree Systems and Vice-Chairman of JioStar, will deliver the keynote lecture this year as part of the theme “Reflections on Journalism, Technology, Business of Media, and the Future.”.
Shankar, a media and entertainment veteran, has been a game-changer in India’s digital media landscape. As Vice-Chairman of JioStar, a flagship company in Reliance’s media and entertainment foray, he is keen on spearheading innovation, content initiatives, and digitalization in India’s media space. Earlier, while serving as President of The Walt Disney Company APAC and Chairman of Star & Disney India, he played a pivotal role in crafting the country’s streaming revolution through Hotstar. His tenure at Bodhi Tree Systems, a media investment company, still drives the expansion of digital content and new-age media businesses.
The function, beginning at 6:30 PM, seeks to discern the changing media landscape in the modern digital era while honoring Rajendra Mathur’s journalism legacy.
