Info Edge Ventures has led the pre-seed round in Oppex AI, which is building an AI-native production operations platform designed to help engineering teams detect, understand and respond to software incidents.
Oppex AI has raised Rs 4.2 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Info Edge Ventures, giving the young startup fresh capital to deepen its product and expand adoption among enterprise customers.
The company plans to use the funds to accelerate product development, grow its team and scale its work with customers. Founded last year by Prasun Kumar and Pranit Kumar, Oppex AI is building an AI-native platform for production operations, with a particular focus on moving incident management from a largely human-led process towards an AI-led one.
That focus places production incidents at the centre of Oppex AI’s product proposition.
Modern engineering teams typically operate across several systems, and the information needed to understand a production problem may sit in different places. Oppex AI’s platform brings together context from observability tools, customer support systems, cloud infrastructure, runbooks and other enterprise systems to understand incidents and automate the response.
Oppex AI targets AI-led production operations
The company is attempting to reduce the amount of time engineers spend investigating and resolving production issues. Its broader pitch is that faster software development should not come at the expense of reliability, customer experience or trust.
Rather than treating incident management as a separate operational task, Oppex AI is positioning its technology as an AI layer for production environments. The platform is designed to assist with the detection, diagnosis and resolution of incidents, allowing engineering teams to spend less time handling production disruptions and more time building products.
The startup also plans to strengthen its agentic platform and expand its capabilities as it works towards AI-led production operations for enterprise technology teams.
Oppex AI said its platform is already being adopted by enterprise customers in markets including India and the US. As software development speeds up and deployment activity increases, production environments can become more complex, creating a need to make sense of signals spread across infrastructure, applications and internal knowledge systems.
Oppex AI’s approach is to bring those signals together so its system can identify possible root causes and take steps towards remediation.
The Rs 4.2 crore pre-seed round will now give the company additional resources to develop that technology, add people to the team and expand its customer engagements as it builds around the idea of AI taking a larger role in day-to-day production operations.
