Noida International Airport Set to Open on April 17, 2025: Key Developments and Features

The Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida, is set to open on April 17, 2025. As of January 28, 2025, construction of the terminal building is about 80% complete. There have been significant advances in key areas, including the terminal’s construction.The flooring has been finished, and important systems like baggage handling and escalators have been put in place. The roofing project is presently in progress.

The completed air traffic control tower is outfitted with functional systems to guarantee efficient air traffic control.

With ₹9,024 crore spent so far, about 90% of the ₹10,000 crore budget allotted for the first phase has been used. The concessionaire, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, will use these monies for project development and land acquisition.

With six runways—including a 3,900-meter north runway and a 4,150-meter south runway—it can accommodate 489,700 aircraft movements annually. The 101,590-square-meter airport terminal has a landscaped courtyard in the middle.

With contactless services and facial recognition, India’s first digital airport connects different forms of transportation and acts as a multimodal hub. It aims for long-term viability and uses eco-friendly building materials. Future expansions will add more terminals and better infrastructure.

An Overview of the Development of Infrastructure

Airside infrastructure development, which includes runways, taxiways, and aprons, is 89% ready to finish. In contrast, landside infrastructure development, which includes terminals, access roads, parking facilities, and public transportation connections, is 79% due to finish.

The concessionaire applied for an aerodrome license after a successful validation flight in December 2024, and the permit is anticipated to be granted in March 2025.
