Narayana Murthy buys ₹50 Cr flat in Bengaluru’s Kingfisher Towers

In a remarkable real estate move, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy has purchased a luxurious flat in Bengaluru’s prestigious Kingfisher Towers. According to a report, valued at ₹50 crore, the acquisition cements his place among the city’s elite homeowners.

Record-breaking purchase on the 16th floor

The newly acquired 16th-floor residence spans an impressive 8,400 square feet and boasts four spacious bedrooms along with five dedicated parking spaces. With the deal priced at ₹59,500 per square foot, this transaction sets a new benchmark for residential property rates in Bengaluru.

Kingfisher Towers, built on the erstwhile estate of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, offers exclusivity with just 81 meticulously designed apartments across its 34-story structure. This specific unit was sold by a Mumbai-based businessman, making it a rare resale in the tightly held community.

A second home in Kingfisher Towers

This isn’t the first Kingfisher Towers property in the Murthy family portfolio. Four years ago, Sudha Murty, Narayana Murthy’s wife, acquired a flat on the 23rd floor for ₹29 crore. The family’s continued interest in the ultra-luxurious complex highlights the tower’s enduring appeal among India’s affluent class.

A hub for Bengaluru’s elite

The Kingfisher Towers has become synonymous with luxury and exclusivity, attracting marquee buyers over the years. Notable residents include Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Rana George, the son of Karnataka energy minister KJ George, who purchased a flat for ₹35 crore.

Launched in 2010 at an initial price of ₹22,000 per square foot, the apartments in Kingfisher Towers have more than doubled in value, driven by Bengaluru’s rising prominence and a scarcity of premium properties in prime locations.

A testament to Bengaluru’s growing real estate market

The sale underscores Bengaluru’s burgeoning real estate landscape, especially in high-demand areas like Kingfisher Towers. With its bespoke apartments and central location, the tower remains a coveted address, blending luxury with exclusivity for India’s most influential figures.
