India Secures Historic ₹20 Lakh Crore Investment Commitments at WEF 2025

India secured over ₹20 lakh crore (roughly $240 billion) in investment commitments at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos. Given that it is the most significant sum India has ever received at the forum, this is a historic occasion.

Industries Minister P Rajeeve conducted more than 30 one-on-one meetings to turn Kerala into an industrial centre to showcase investment prospects across various industries.

Global Engagement

More than 100 CEOs and top executives from international corporations also attended the event, hoping to establish alliances with Indian businesses. AB InBev’s $250 million investment in India’s beverage sector and Unilever’s intentions to develop two new production plants in Telangana were among the noteworthy announcements.

To draw the international community’s attention, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw called for India to focus on economic advancement, encourage inclusive development that helps every segment of society, and support enduring peace both within the country and Minister Vaishnaw highlighted India’s dynamic democracy and unwavering dedication to protecting intellectual ancestry rights. He noted that India is becoming a stable and reliable nation despite the challenges of an uncertain global landscape.

Given that the next World Economic Forum meeting is set for January 19–23, 2026, India has plenty of chances to deepen its economic ties with other countries.
