As the new Head of Rapid Commerce and D2C Brands, Delhivery is pleased to welcome back one of its own, Milind Sharma. The return of Sharma, a founding member who was instrumental in the early expansion of the business, feels more like a homecoming than a new hire. Delhivery is preparing to make a significant push for its rapid commerce and direct-to-consumer initiatives with this move.
A seasoned entrepreneur with over 14 years of experience across e-commerce and quick commerce domains, Sharma brings a wealth of expertise in building and scaling consumer-centric ventures. During his initial stint at Delhivery, he led Business Development and helped the company reach a milestone of 100,000 daily orders.
His entrepreneurial journey post-Delhivery includes co-founding PepperTap, a hyperlocal grocery delivery platform that reached an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of over $200 million at its peak. He also launched Nuvo Logistics, scaling it to $10 million in revenue across 75+ cities before its acquisition by Shadowfax, where he subsequently led growth and strategic initiatives. More recently, he ventured into building Flyo, a quick commerce platform, and Mabel, a jewellery-focused commerce brand.
In his new position, Sharma will oversee the growth of Delhivery’s rapid commerce offerings and deepen its product portfolio for D2C brands. He will also be responsible for ramping up the company’s same-day and next-day delivery capabilities, a key growth focus in the changing e-commerce logistics landscape.
“Rejoining Delhivery feels like a homecoming for me. This is where I started my startup journey, and I’m eager to contribute to the next phase of growth by building out the Rapid Commerce service and scaling our presence in the D2C segment,” Sharma said in a statement.
Welcoming him back, Delhivery CEO Sahil Barua remarked, “Having been part of our early journey, Milind understands our DNA and what it takes to build and scale in this space. His entrepreneurial mindset and deep experience in consumer businesses will be invaluable as we expand our Rapid Commerce and D2C Brands segment.”
Delhivery’s move to welcome Sharma back into the fold indicates its plans to bet big on consumer-centric logistics innovations amidst increasing competition in the quick commerce and D2C enablement segment. With increasing need for quick deliveries and customized logistics services for digital-native brands, the move is likely to strengthen Delhivery’s market position.
In the past few months, the company has been steadily expanding its leadership team with significant hires in customer experience, people operations, and digital marketing, demonstrating a daring growth and innovation strategy.
