DeHaat Acquires AgriCentral to Strengthen Position as India’s Largest Agritech Platform

DeHaat has formally announced the acquisition of Olam Agri’s farm advisory platform, AgriCentral, for all cash. This strategic move, announced on January 22, 2025, aims to strengthen DeHaat’s position as India’s largest full-stack agritech platform while also expanding the company’s offerings to Indian farmers.

AgriCentral was purchased by DeHaat through a Business Transfer Agreement (BTA). The transaction’s financial details have not been made public.

DeHaat will reach over 12 million farmers as a result of this acquisition, greatly surpassing its prior goals. AgriCentral provides cutting-edge digital solutions to more than 10 million smallholder farmers.

DeHaat will be able to offer a wider range of services, including precision advisory, mechanization, insurance, and cattle advisory, thanks to the integration of AgriCentral’s capabilities. By providing all-encompassing agricultural solutions, this seeks to raise farmers’ standard of living.

DeHaat Expands Digital Services with Acquisition of AgriCentral

Established in 2018, AgriCentral is renowned for its cutting-edge platform that leverages technologies like big data analytics, machine learning, and satellite imagery. Personalized crop planning, crop health diagnostics, and real-time crop price data are some of its features.

In more than 120,000 Indian villages, DeHaat has established a significant network of more than 15,000 DeHaat Centers. Additionally, the company has partnered with more than 1,000 agribusiness organizations, including financial institutions and producers of agri-inputs.

AgriCentral’s digital capabilities will enhance its current services and increase its reach among underserved farmers, according to Shashank Kumar, co-founder and CEO of DeHaat. This acquisition aligns with DeHaat’s objective of using technology to help farmers in India’s $500 billion agriculture sector make better decisions.

DeHaat is taking a big step with this acquisition as it develops and broadens its agritech product line. By integrating AgriCentral’s digital capabilities—such as mechanization, precision advisory, insurance, and cattle advisory—DeHaat is expanding its range of products. This calculated action aligns with DeHaat’s goal of offering farmers complete farming solutions. The company wants to use partnerships and technology to reach 50 million farmers by 2025 to spur growth.
