Indian cricket saw the curtain fall on a glorious chapter with Virat Kohli, one of the greatest cricketers of the modern era, retiring from Test cricket. The move marks the culmination of a ten-year journey that has transformed India’s role in the longest version of the game.
Among the many tributes that poured in, Amit Khatri, Co-Founder of homegrown tech wearables brand Noise, expressed deep admiration for Kohli’s impact beyond the cricket field. “An era ends, but the legacy lives on! To the man who taught us never to back down and always to come back stronger, Virat Kohli has been a true epitome of sportsmanship, inspiring Indians across generations and continuing to do so,” he posted.
Kohli has not only been a symbol of grit on the field but also a strategic face for Indian consumer brands off it. In late 2023, Noise announced Virat Kohli as its brand ambassador. The collaboration aimed to merge Kohli’s high-performance image with Noise’s positioning as a tech-driven, youth-centric brand in India’s booming smartwatch and wearables space. Speaking during the partnership launch also, Khatri had noted that Kohli “resonates deeply with the aspirations of our audience someone who constantly pushes boundaries and strives for excellence.”
Kohli, who captained India in 68 Tests and led the side to historic victories overseas, retires as India’s most successful Test captain.
Famous for his aggressive approach, unparalleled fitness levels, and tireless quest for excellence, Kohli leaves behind a changed team culture and an unforgettable legacy on world cricket.
From the 2014 Adelaide battle to the 2021 triumph at Lord’s, Kohli’s moments of grit and fire will be etched in cricketing lore. While fans mourn the end of his red-ball journey, his influence both on and off the field continues to inspire athletes, entrepreneurs, and young Indians striving to lead with passion and purpose.
A legend may step off the pitch, but his legacy plays on.
