Air India sets a new benchmark as it becomes the first Indian airline to provide in-flight Wi-Fi services on domestic routes. The airline on January 1, 2025, announced that domestic passengers will now be able to browse the internet, access social media, stay updated on work and can connect with friends and family from flights.
All Air India flights operated by Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft will feature in-flight Wi-Fi services at free of cost during the introductory period. This initiative by Air India aims to enhance their passengers’ experience while travelling. This enhanced technology allows passengers to stay connected during their domestic flights.
Rajesh Dogra who is a Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, stated, “Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. For some, it is about the convenience and comfort of real-time sharing, while for others, it is about greater productivity and efficiency. Whatever be one’s purpose, we are confident that our guests will appreciate having the option of connecting to the web and enjoy the new Air India experience on board these aircraft,”
The airline has also announced that plans are being made to extend Wi-Fi services to more aircrafts. The main aim behind this initiative is to grab a position as a leader in technological advancement in Indian aeronautics.
The in-flight Wi-Fi service is easily accessible. On up to 10,000 feet distance, passengers can enable Wi-Fi on their devices and select the ‘Air India Wi-Fi’ network. They will then be redirected to an Air India portal where they can log in using their PNR number and last name. The service supports multiple device connections, ensuring a hassle-free user experience.
By offering a flawless travel experience to its passengers, Air India is expected to redefine air travel in India.
