LinkedIn names Deepak Agarwal as its first-ever chief AI officer

LinkedIn has named Deepak Agarwal as its Chief AI Officer (CAIO), which is a big step for the site’s work in AI. Deepak Agarwal has 24 years of work in tech and AI, with key jobs at Pinterest and Yahoo. This is his second time at LinkedIn. He was Vice President of AI for eight years before.

During that time, Agarwal helped create AI tools that still run key parts of LinkedIn today.
“Deepak has been key to LinkedIn’s AI growth. His skills have shaped much of our AI work,” said LinkedIn in its news.

Vision for ethical AI

In a post on LinkedIn, Agarwal shared his joy about being named CAIO. He talked about how the site has used AI to make custom experiences for users and businesses.
“My goal as Chief AI Officer is to push AI to new heights while making sure our tools are fair, include all, and focus on people,” Agarwal said. “I feel proud to guide work that helps our members connect and find great chances.”
He stressed his wish to make tech that has a good impact in the real world. Agarwal wants to lead LinkedIn’s AI work toward smart, caring, and modern solutions.

New AI tools for job seekers and recruiters

LinkedIn just rolled out a new AI tool made to link job seekers with recruiters. This tool helps job seekers see how their skills match open jobs and help recruiters find good candidates faster.
The new tool comes after LinkedIn found that job searching and hiring have become harder in today’s tough job scene.

Looking ahead

With Agarwal leading AI, LinkedIn is ready to push for fair and new advances. “Together, we will make tools that bring great value to all users and groups on LinkedIn,” Agarwal said.
The site keeps working to be a top player in using AI to build strong work networks and improve user experiences.

Summary

Deepak Agarwal’s new role as LinkedIn’s Chief AI Officer shows the company’s focus on fair and game-changing AI work that helps both users and groups.
