Great Learning sees 23% revenue growth, reaches $118 million

EdTech company Great Learning announced on Monday that it achieved 23 percent year-on-year growth in revenue, reaching USD 118 million (approximately ₹992 crore) for the financial year 2024. This notable increase is attributed to the rising demand for upskilling in artificial intelligence and significant business growth in the US and European markets.

In a statement, the company confirmed that its revenue stood at USD 118 million, with both EBITDA and net profit remaining positive throughout the fiscal year. Great Learning, which was acquired by Byju’s in 2021, has seen significant developments since its acquisition. In October 2023, financial lenders took control of Byju’s ownership stake in Great Learning to ensure its safeguarding and protection.

The statement highlighted that the company’s strong performance in FY24 has established it as a leading global provider of AI upskilling while maintaining a focused approach to profitability. Great Learning continues to experience robust growth in international markets, particularly in North America and Europe, where demand for digital skills is surging.

Founded 11 years ago, Great Learning offers professional certificate courses in rapidly evolving digital fields such as data science and artificial intelligence, collaborating with top global universities to enhance educational quality. The company has been actively expanding its partnerships, recently collaborating with Microsoft and Amazon for industry certifications and with prestigious institutions such as Johns Hopkins, Duke University, and IIT Bombay for degree and professional certificate programs.

Currently, Great Learning provides over 1,200 programs, both paid and free, and claims to have more than 11 million learners across 170 countries worldwide.

Mohan Lakhamraju, Founder and CEO of Great Learning, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s performance, stating, “We are happy to have delivered strong performance under tough macroeconomic conditions.” This reflects Great Learning’s unwavering commitment to advancing education in the digital age despite the numerous challenges present in the market today.
