Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis may have kept their relationship largely away from public view, but Curtis is now offering a rare glimpse into a part of their life that appears to matter deeply to him: the close-knit group of friends surrounding Aniston.
The 50-year-old hypnotherapist has spoken publicly about the relationship for the first time, describing both Aniston and the people closest to her in unusually warm terms. During an appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Curtis said he felt “incredibly blessed” to have been welcomed into what he described as Aniston’s group of friends who are “like a family.”
That circle includes Aniston’s longtime Friends co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. Curtis described the wider group as grounded and kind, saying the warmth he has experienced is not limited to the way they treat him.
His comments offer a different window into a romance that developed quietly before becoming public. Rather than focusing on a major relationship milestone, Curtis spoke about the sense of community around Aniston and his own experience of becoming part of it.
Just days before the podcast was filmed, Curtis and Aniston were seen having dinner with Cox, Kudrow, Jason Bateman and Bateman’s wife, Anka Bateman.
A relationship that took time to develop
Aniston, 57, and Curtis did not immediately turn their introduction into a romance.
Curtis has previously explained that the two met through mutual friends and initially spent time talking. According to his account, the relationship developed gradually as they became closer.
“We were just introduced by friends. That’s it. We found out that we had mutual friends and we started to just chat,” Curtis said while discussing how the relationship began. He added that the process “took a long time” and that they talked for an extended period before becoming close.
The couple dated for nearly a year before making their relationship public.
That relatively slow progression fits with the private nature of their relationship so far. The pair were first photographed together during a yacht trip in Spain last year, where they were accompanied by the same group of friends Curtis is now speaking about.
Curtis says the relationship is ‘going really well’
While Curtis did not share intimate details about the couple’s day-to-day life, he was clear about how he views the relationship.
He said things were “going really well” and described Aniston as grounded, open, caring, kind and loving.
“I feel blessed to be in a relationship with someone that is so open-hearted and kind and loving,” he said.
The remarks stand out because Aniston and Curtis have largely allowed their relationship to emerge through occasional public appearances rather than frequent commentary.
Their most explicit public acknowledgement came in November last year, when Aniston shared a black-and-white photograph of the couple on Instagram to mark Curtis’ birthday.
“Happy birthday my love Cherished ❤️,” she wrote alongside the photograph.
Since then, the picture around their relationship has filled in slowly: an introduction through mutual friends, months of conversation, almost a year of dating away from the spotlight, appearances with Aniston’s closest friends, and now Curtis’ first detailed comments about what being part of that world has felt like.
His latest remarks suggest that, for Curtis, one of the most meaningful developments has not simply been making the relationship public. It has been finding a place within the friendships Aniston has built around herself.
