New Delhi-based edtech startup Adda247, known for its courses targeting government exams, has recently raised $35 million in its latest funding round led by West Bridge Capital. Google joined as a new investor alongside existing backers Info Edge Ventures and Asha Impact.
Founded in 2010 by Anil Nagar and Saurabh Bansal, Adda247 provides live-video classes, on-demand courses, mock tests, and study materials focused on exams for public sector banks, government departments, and railways. The platform claims a robust user base of 22 million monthly active users, including two million paid subscribers.

Anil Nagar’s journey began in a rural area of Uttar Pradesh, where he faced significant educational challenges. Despite these obstacles, his academic prowess allowed him to pursue a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT-BHU. Following his undergraduate studies, Nagar earned an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Goa Institute of Management.
His early exposure to these esteemed institutions marked the beginning of his commitment to improving education accessibility. In his quest to transform education, Nagar partnered with Saurabh Bansal to co-found Adda247.
With the new funding, the company aims to enhance its technology and product offerings, expand its student counselling team, and hire key leadership roles. The startup also aims to deepen its presence in the vernacular language segment by developing new courses and hiring faculty for state-level exams.
