In one of its most ambitious ventures yet, Blinkit has quietly launched a hyperlocal ambulance service in Gurugram, applying its rapid delivery playbook to emergency healthcare.

The service began earlier this year with 5 ambulances operating near Golf Course Road. Today, the fleet has grown to 12 ambulances across 6 depots, covering nearly half the city. According to Eternal founder Deepinder Goyal, the service now reaches patients within 10 minutes in 83% of cases.

Since launch, Blinkit Ambulances has responded to 594 emergency calls, 50% of them classified as critical, including cardiac events, injuries, and urgent medical transport needs.

Blinkit Ambulance: Addressing a Deep-Rooted Gap

The service was born out of a question: If groceries can arrive in 10 minutes, why not ambulances? But the path to execution has been challenging.

Goyal notes that many people still hesitate to call ambulances, relying instead on private vehicles due to fears around delays or unreliability. To change that perception, Blinkit is working on speed, trust, and consistency.

Another major challenge has been staffing. “We learned how difficult it is to find and train paramedics who can deliver not just medical aid, but empathy,” Goyal wrote in a post. In response, Blinkit is building an in-house paramedic training program to improve both clinical and human response capabilities.

A Service, Not Just a Pilot

Though not publicly launched or marketed yet, the service operates through the Blinkit app in select Gurugram areas. There’s no formal pricing disclosed, but the company is reportedly charging standard or subsidized rates depending on the case.

No partnerships with government bodies or hospitals have been announced yet, and the service remains in early growth phase. However, internal indicators suggest the company is viewing it as a long-term commitment.

“This isn’t just a project. It’s a responsibility we carry close to our hearts,” Goyal stated. “It’s still Day 1.”
