Homegrown OTT platform ULLU, which has made a name for itself with its daring and innovative online content, has made its entry into Web3 with the launch of UlluCoin, a utility token on the blockchain. The move is a milestone for the Indian entertainment-tech industry, bringing mass entertainment together with advanced blockchain technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Vibhu Agarwal, founder of ULLU, Atrangii, and Hari Om, expressed his pride in how the company evolved from a modest team to one of India’s fastest-growing OTT platforms. “This isn’t just about technology, it’s about transformation. UlluCoin brings us closer to our audience in a completely new way, making ULLU not just a platform, but a global digital ecosystem,” Agarwal noted.
The token aims to deepen engagement by offering fans rewards, unlocking premium content, enabling in-app redemptions, and opening access to token-gated experiences. According to ULLU CEO Avinash Duggar, the token is designed as a full-stack utility ecosystem, riding on ULLU’s large existing user base of over 42 million active subscribers and more than 109 million app downloads since its 2018 launch.
“UlluCoin is more than just a token; it’s a bridge to real-world blockchain adoption,” Duggar said. “With our unmatched engagement and scale, we’re building a smarter entertainment economy.”
ULLUCoin: Backed by Global Players
The project has also garnered international attention with Dubai-headquartered Cypher Capital coming in at the seed stage. Reputed for its specialization in blockchain and frontier technology, Cypher believes ULLU to be a unique chance to blend mainstream entertainment with Web3 at scale.
“At Cypher Capital, we look for projects that combine massive user scale with real-world utility, and UlluCoin fits that vision perfectly,” said Harsh Agarwal, Investment Director at Cypher Capital. “We’re excited to help UlluCoin scale globally.”
ULLU has also partnered with Chainsense Ltd., which is handling blockchain infrastructure, tokenomics, and international expansion. Ganesh Lore of Chainsense described the project as a gateway to global business, with ULLU providing the perfect foundation for blockchain utility at scale.
Token Rollout
The initial distribution of UlluCoin has started via ULLU’s official app and the website (ullucoin.io). To ensure security and avoid scams, the company has avoided third-party channels for now. The listing on crypto exchanges is expected within one to two months, after which UlluCoin will function like mainstream cryptocurrencies and be usable across broader crypto ecosystems, from digital marketplaces to even real estate transactions.
“We’re distributing the coins for free on our platform for now, based on subscriptions. Once listed, UlluCoin will integrate seamlessly into global crypto networks,” a company spokesperson explained.
Expanding the Ecosystem
ULLU’s vision for UlluCoin is ambitious. Features in the works are creator rewards, live fan events, interactive quests, and a marketplace gate-kept by tokens, all designed to foster closer relationships with its fans. Similar to Jio’s strategic collaboration with Polygon, ULLU views its partnership with Cypher and Chainsense as means to strengthen its blockchain foundation.
For India, the move is significant as it underlines the growing confidence of homegrown digital brands in taking their innovations to the global stage. As Vibhu Agarwal summed it up: “From local stories to international impact, UlluCoin is our way of pushing boundaries even further.”
