Adult Film Airing on Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable Sparks Controversy

Dharmapuri: A major controversy erupted in Tamil Nadu after a private channel telecast an adult film via the state-run Arasu Cable TV Corporation Limited. The broadcast, which reportedly lasted for nearly an hour on Thursday evening, has drawn sharp criticism from consumers and officials alike.

Based on reports, the private channel, which is located in Salem, broadcasted raunchy material prior to when the broadcast was suddenly cut short. Officials took quick action following reports from viewers, which raised the alarm.

Swift Response from Authorities

Special Tahsildar of Arasu Cable, Dharmapuri, Rajarajan, confirmed that after receiving a tip-off, officials immediately contacted cable operators and instructed them to cease the broadcast. “We took immediate steps to ensure that the telecast was stopped forthwith,” he stated.

Public Backlash and Concerns

The episode has stirred up outrage among citizens and netizens as well, with many raising questions about the monitoring system of the state-owned cable network. Consumer rights organizations demanded to know what happened to the lapse, claiming that proper monitoring would have prevented such content from being on air.
