German adult-content creator Noah Segsy, whose birth name was Riccardo Staudt, has died at the age of 22 after drowning in Cyprus.

Segsy was found unconscious in a swimming pool at an apartment complex in Paralimni on the evening of August 24. Emergency services were called at around 9.20pm, and he was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination later established drowning as the cause of death. Toxicology testing was also carried out, but the results were still pending in the latest reporting. Police in Paralimni continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, including what happened before Segsy entered the water and how he came to be in difficulty.

Who was Noah Segsy?

Segsy had built an online following as an adult-content performer and creator, particularly among gay audiences. His identity was not made public when news of the death first emerged, before he was later identified as Noah Segsy.

The 22-year-old also had a business connection to Cyprus.

STAUDTPH LTD was registered on the island on June 22, 2023, with Segsy listed as a director. The company’s registered office was in Paralimni, the same town where he was later found unconscious in the swimming pool.

That detail adds another layer to his connection with Cyprus, beyond the circumstances of his death.

Fundraiser launched to bring Noah Segsy’s body back to Germany

Following Segsy’s death, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to help his family with the costs of transporting his body back to Germany and arranging his funeral.

The fundraiser had collected more than €20,555, around £17,500, before it was paused.

The appeal described the financial and emotional strain facing Segsy’s family after his death. It said the family was dealing with substantial costs linked to repatriation and the funeral, calling the situation an “enormous burden” both emotionally and financially.

Segsy is survived by his mother, Katharina, and his grandmother, Anita.

The fundraiser was written on behalf of his mother and spoke of a son who had died “far too soon”, while asking for support with the expenses now facing the family.

Police investigation remains open

Although the post-mortem established drowning as the cause of death, the events leading up to the incident have not yet been fully determined.

Paralimni police are continuing their investigation, and the precise circumstances surrounding Segsy’s death remain unresolved.

With toxicology results still outstanding in the latest reporting, authorities have not publicly established what caused Segsy to enter the water or why he was unable to recover.
