Rebel Foods’ 15-Minute Gamble: A Bold Move Against Zomato & Swiggy

Rebel Foods, the cloud kitchen titan backed by Temasek and KKR, has unfurled its newest offering, “QuickiES,” allegedly carving a new niche in the 15-minute food delivery process. In the race for hyper-speed food delivery supremacy, the new service intends to go head-to-head with both long-standing competitors like Zomato and Swiggy, and upstarts like Zepto.

By leveraging the infrastructure of its existing cloud kitchen brands such as Behrouz Biryani, Oven Story, and Faasos Wraps, Rebel Foods is delivering quality fast meals in 15 minutes. This taps the demand for rapid food deliveries and captures the trend among consumers looking for fast and convenient food.

Consumer Insights Drive QuickiES Launch

Sagar Kochhar, co-founder and CEO of EatSure (the app where QuickiES operates), said that the clear consumer demand for faster food delivery prompted the launch of QuickiES. He said in a conversation with TOI that users want their food immediately when they are hungry, and there is a gap in the market that QuickiES aims to fill.

Why should 15-minute food delivery not happen? The underlying demand is there, the consumer need is there, it is just about plugging that need gap,” said Kochhar. The company believes that this service will not only cater to light snacks but, over time, will become an option for all meal occasions, provided the food quality meets customer expectations.

Exclusively on EatSure: Data-Driven Approach for Personalization

QuickiES would be available exclusively on EatSure, Rebel Foods’ platform for which it plays a key role in predicting demand and customizing the menu on consumer preferences. In comparison to more conventional restaurant chains, Rebel Foods has a significant advantage because of its data-driven strategy and the extensive knowledge of its customers it possesses.

The QuickiES service has launched in Mumbai, marking Rebel Foods’ official foray into the quick commerce sector. The company’s ability to use its existing infrastructure—combined with customer data from the EatSure app—gives it a competitive advantage in scaling this service.

Kochhar added that QuickiES’ objective isn’t just to compete with other food delivery services, but also to study consumer preferences and adapt to them. This broad vision would be transforming QuickiES from being just a snack delivery service to a complete meal provider such that it is seen as a dining option for the entire day.

What’s Next for Rebel Foods and QuickiES?

Following the launch of QuickiES in Mumbai, Rebel Foods would be looking forward to scaling the operation in the months to come in other urban locations. With Zomato, Swiggy, and Zepto in quick delivery space offering stiff competition, speed wars are heating up.

Rebel Foods comes equipped to challenge in an otherwise fast-paced sector backed by a strong data-driven strategy and its cloud kitchen operational apparatus. The real determinant would be its capability to retain good-quality food, respond to demand spikes, and ramp up operations while promising customers delivery within 15 minutes.
