GTA 6 fans have another piece of hardware to look forward to as Sony and Rockstar Games have introduced limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title.

The special PlayStation 5 controllers are now available for pre-order through PlayStation Direct. The launch comes as excitement around GTA 6 continues to build, with the game scheduled to arrive later this year.

A DualSense built around the GTA 6 look

The limited-edition controller has been designed around the visual style associated with GTA 6 and its Vice City setting. It features glossy purple accents along with palm tree-inspired engravings that give the controller a different look from the standard DualSense.

One of its most noticeable details is the touchpad, which carries a large “VI” logo surrounded by palm tree detailing. Grand Theft Auto branding is also placed on the back of the controller.

Sony is offering the special DualSense in both black and white colour options. The controller is priced at $84 and is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, the same day GTA 6 is set to release.

The product description highlights the connection to Vice City, describing the limited-edition controllers as capturing its style and luxury.

Pre-orders are already live

Pre-orders for the GTA 6-themed DualSense are already live on PlayStation Direct. However, strong demand has reportedly resulted in long waiting times for some customers trying to place their orders.

The limited-edition release gives fans a way to bring the GTA 6 theme into their PS5 setup even before the game itself arrives.

GTA 6 could put the controller through its paces

The controller could also have a practical connection to how GTA 6 is played. The game is expected to bring back sprinting through the L3 button, meaning players could frequently use the left stick during gameplay.

With GTA 6 expected to offer a lengthy experience, frequent use of the controller could make its design and durability particularly relevant for players planning to spend extended periods in the game.

GTA 6 will also make use of the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, allowing the PS5 controller’s features to play a role in the gameplay experience.

No GTA 6 PS5 console bundle announced yet

Despite the launch of the limited-edition controller, Sony has not announced a GTA 6-themed PS5 console or a bundle combining the game, console and special DualSense.

Sony has been promoting GTA 6 and its enhanced experience on the PS5 Pro, but there is currently no confirmed announcement for a larger GTA 6 hardware package.

For now, the limited-edition DualSense remains the main GTA 6-themed hardware option announced for PlayStation players.

GTA 6 release date

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on November 19, 2026. The limited-edition DualSense controller is also scheduled to arrive on the same date.

For fans waiting for GTA 6, the new controller adds another way to mark the game’s arrival, with its purple accents, palm tree-inspired details and prominent “VI” touchpad logo giving it a clear connection to the upcoming title.
