Metasports Interactive, a mobile gaming company, has raised $20 million in user acquisition funding from London-based growth financing firm Metica. The investment is aimed at accelerating the company’s marketing efforts and expanding the reach of its flagship game, Hitwicket, a multiplayer cricket title.

The funding marks a significant step for the company as it prepares for the next phase of global expansion, focusing on strengthening its presence in key international markets and improving overall user growth performance.

Hitwicket at the Center of Expansion Strategy

The newly secured capital will primarily support user acquisition and marketing activities for Hitwicket. The game has grown steadily since its launch and has built a substantial global footprint. According to the company, Hitwicket has reached more than 18 million users across 109 countries.

This wide distribution reflects the company’s focus on building a global gaming audience around a cricket-based multiplayer experience, a genre that continues to gain traction across mobile-first markets.

Metasports Interactive plans to use the funding to push deeper into priority regions while improving visibility and engagement for the game across different user segments.

Founders and Long-Term Vision

Metasports Interactive was founded by Kashyap Reddy and Keerti Singh. Under their leadership, the company has focused on developing a scalable mobile gaming ecosystem centered around competitive cricket gameplay.

The latest funding round aligns with the company’s broader objective of scaling operations while maintaining efficient growth economics. The leadership team has outlined an ambition to significantly expand the platform over the next 18 months, with a target of nearly eight times growth during this period.

This expansion strategy is expected to be driven by stronger marketing execution, improved targeting capabilities, and continued product development.

Strategic Role of Metica’s Platform

Along with providing capital, Metica will also contribute its technology platform to support Metasports Interactive’s growth objectives. This platform is designed to enhance in-game revenue performance and improve unit economics, which are critical factors in scaling mobile gaming businesses efficiently.

By combining financial backing with performance-focused technology support, the partnership aims to create a more structured and data-driven approach to user acquisition and monetization.

The collaboration reflects a growing trend in the mobile gaming sector where funding partners also play an active role in optimizing business performance rather than only providing capital.

Strong Investor Backing and Previous Funding

This is not the first major investment for Metasports Interactive. The company had previously raised $8 million in funding from Prime Venture Partners and Horizon Ventures. In addition to institutional investors, the startup also counts cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle among its backers.

These earlier investments helped the company develop and scale Hitwicket into a globally distributed mobile game, laying the foundation for its current expansion phase.

The continued support from a mix of venture capital firms and strategic backers highlights sustained confidence in the company’s long-term potential within the mobile gaming industry.

Understanding User Acquisition Funding in Gaming

The latest $20 million raise is structured as user acquisition (UA) funding, a non-dilutive financing model commonly used in the gaming and consumer app sectors. Unlike traditional equity funding, UA financing is linked directly to performance metrics rather than ownership dilution.

In this model, capital is deployed specifically toward acquiring new users, and returns are typically tied to the revenue generated from those users over time. This approach allows gaming companies to scale aggressively while maintaining operational flexibility.

For Metasports Interactive, this structure provides the ability to invest heavily in growth for Hitwicket without immediately impacting equity ownership, while still aligning funding with measurable performance outcomes.

Building Toward Global Scale

With fresh capital, strategic technological support, and an established user base, Metasports Interactive is positioning Hitwicket for its next stage of international growth. The company’s focus remains on expanding into key global markets, improving user acquisition efficiency, and enhancing in-game monetization.

As mobile gaming continues to evolve, the company’s combined approach of funding, technology integration, and targeted expansion reflects a structured push toward building a stronger global presence in the competitive gaming landscape.
