Consumer health and wellness company Cradlewise has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management. The latest investment takes the company’s total funding raised to date to $26 million.

Cradlewise has previously received backing from Sean O’Sullivan Ventures, Footwork VC, Charles River Ventures, 3one4 Capital, and Prudent Investment Management.

The company plans to use the new capital to support business growth, expand its distribution channels, invest in product research and development, and enter new geographic markets.

Smart cribs built around infant sleep

Founded in 2019 by Radhika Patil and Bharath Patil, Cradlewise is an AI-first consumer technology company focused on infant sleep. Its flagship products are smart cribs designed to soothe babies while helping families get better sleep.

The company’s technology combines hardware, sensors, artificial intelligence, and a connected app to monitor a baby’s sleep environment and detect early signs of movement or stirring.

Its smart cribs use sensors to track factors including movement, sound, sleep state, and other contextual signals. The system then processes this information to predict when a baby may wake up and respond before the child fully wakes.

This approach is designed to reduce interruptions during sleep and help parents spend less time manually settling their babies.

AI and sleep data drive the technology

Cradlewise says its technology can save parents up to two hours of effort each day. The company has also developed patents covering its hardware and sensing systems.

According to the company, its AI models have been trained using more than 75 million hours of sleep data. This data forms a key part of the system’s ability to identify patterns associated with infant movement and sleep.

The company’s smart sleep system combines a crib, contactless monitoring, adaptive motion, and a connected application. Together, these features are designed to identify early signs that a baby is beginning to stir and help settle the baby before a complete wake-up.

Pune facility supports manufacturing control

Cradlewise also operates an integrated manufacturing facility in Pune. The facility handles production, testing, and packaging, with the capacity to produce thousands of cribs each month.

Having manufacturing operations under its own control allows the company to manage different stages of production while maintaining oversight of quality and product development. Cradlewise also says the setup gives it greater control over costs.

The manufacturing infrastructure is expected to support the company as it expands its channels and reaches more customers across different markets.

Funding to support wider expansion

The latest Series A round comes as Cradlewise continues to build its position at the intersection of consumer technology, artificial intelligence, and parenting.

Its products are focused on one of the recurring challenges faced by families with infants, particularly disrupted sleep and the resulting fatigue experienced by parents.

With the new $12 million investment, Cradlewise is set to focus on expanding its reach, strengthening its product development efforts, and entering additional geographic markets. The funding also gives the company further resources to develop its technology and broaden the availability of its smart sleep solutions.
